Chris Ricks co-founded the Traeger & Ricks, PLLC law firm, following a successful completion of the Texas Bar Exam. Chris graduated cum laude from St. Mary’s University School of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree.
Prior to and during law school, Chris worked for over 10 years as an independent petroleum landman contracted primarily through Thomas W. Schleier & Associates of Seguin, Texas. Additionally, Chris worked as a law clerk for several months at an oil and gas title examination firm in Alamo Heights. Chris worked and learned the oil and gas business from boom to eventual bust at which time he decided to diversify his skills through attending law school. Chris is well versed in oil and gas matters affecting mineral owners and title to lands. Chris has wide experience working in counties throughout Texas, researching records and building abstracts of title. Additionally, Chris is experienced in residential, commercial, and farm & ranch real estate matters. Finally, Chris is passionate about private property ownership and ensuring Texas landowners continue to fully enjoy the same.
Born in Katy, Texas, Chris was raised from age 9 in his mother’s and grandparent’s hometown, New Braunfels, Texas. Chris has been active in the New Braunfels community through his involvement and participation with:
